Is the FARO helmet waterproof?

Yes. FARO is IPX-6 waterproof and includes a bunch of weather-specific light behaviors, for maximum visibility.

How long does the battery last?

FARO features an 1850 mAh, rechargeable, lithium-polymer battery, which takes around 3 hours to charge fully. Fully charged, it can last 2 to 10 hours of continuous use - depending on the settings chosen (light intensity, behaviors, sensor sensitivity, etc). In real life, this should allow a 'once a week' charge for most users. As a nice bonus, when the helmet is off, passive battery consumption is close to zero - this way, FARO can hold its battery for a long time when off.

What certifications does FARO have? Is it safe?

FARO's next-level safety approach will not only protect you during a crash but will also make you visible to help prevent crashing in the first place. FARO combines an ABS hard shell with an EPS Liner for optimal impact protection - and complies with the major international safety certifications: CPSC & EN1078. It also includes Mips As an optional add-on, we've added MIPS: A low-friction liner that improves impact absorption on rotational collisions.

Does FARO have Crash Detection? How does it work?

Yes, FARO has Crash Detection. In the event of an accident, FARO can detect a hard impact and, if you fail to respond to our safety check, send out an SOS text with your location. Once a hard crash is registered by the onboard accelerometer (mild bumps won’t trigger this), a safety check timer will go off in our App. If the rider doesn’t respond, the SOS is sent to the emergency contact you have selected in the App. The safety check timer and even the SOS message are both customizable. The phone screen doesn’t have to be on for this feature to work but the App must be open (with Crash Detection active). If you need help setting this up, check this tutorial in the App section.

What are FARO’s different light features?

Each light feature on FARO has a different 'job': the top lights are smaller but well focused and very powerful (for visibility from further away), while the hidden light is much bigger but not as powerful (for communication with drivers closer to you). Combined, FARO has over 500 lumens to make you visible with a massive light footprint.
